Well. Long time no see.
After 12 years of writing developer documentation for Apple, I’ve decided that it’s time for a change. Overall, I greatly enjoyed my time at Apple. Every day, the software engineers brought me a shiny new box of APIs. I got to play around with them, figure out how they worked, abuse them, and try to break them. Then I wrote up everything I learned and published it in the Developer Library.
If you look up anything for watchOS or HealthKit, odds are you’re looking at something I wrote.
By far, my highlight was working in the labs during WDC–back when it was still an in-person conference. Having the opportunity to meet and help developers directly was amazing.
Still–damn–it’s great to be out on my own again, naked and free.
So, what’s next? Well, I’m still planning on writing technical documents–but I’m looking forward to exploring topics that I couldn’t from within Apple. I’m also interested in exploring non-technical topics: writing, music, electronics. Basically anything that catches my severely ADHD attention, and that I think someone else might find it interesting. While I’ll use this site for the central hub covering everything I’m doing; hopefully, I can keep it organized, so you can easily filter for just the content you’re interested in.
More later…
