I just submitted a short story to Uncanny Magazine. Their open-submission deadline was September 7th, and I got mine in just under the deadline.
This is the first piece of fiction that I’ve submitted anywhere in more than 12 years. As soon as I started working at Apple, writing became my daytime job, and I no longer had the time or energy to write fiction.
I am incredibly excited to have something out again. I have a couple of novel projects in progress—I’m almost done with the first draft of one. But it’s a long time before I’ll be ready to submit them, and I’ll need to find an agent first.
